As the democratically elected members of the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria (FPAV) continues paving the way forward for Treaty in Victoria between Victorian Aboriginal people and the State Government, we take a look at some of the challenges and successes achieved to date.

In this first of many interviews with FPAV representatives, we spoke with Assembly Co-Chair, Taungurung man Marcus Stewart.

From explaining the basic structure and purpose of the Assembly to even speculating on when we might see the first treaty being negotiated, this interview provides a solid foundation for understanding some of the processes – and complexities – of Treaty.

We’ve also included here some resources from the Assembly that we hope you find useful in understanding more about the Treaty process and work being undertaken by the Assembly.
