Just on two years into the first iteration of the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria, the Aboriginal-elected representative body has made significant headway towards the achievement of Treaties between the Victorian Traditional Owners and the state government.

Despite the majority of that time being subjected to restrictions and lockdowns, the Assembly has already progressed further than many might have predicted.

In this interview with Assembly Co-Chair Marcus Stewart, Victorian Aboriginal News asks key questions about a state government response to the Stolen Generations Redress Scheme, a by-election in North-East Victoria, the Treaty Authority and more.
