A highly renowned and respected Bangerang, Taungurung and Wiradjuri Elder, Aunty Esme Bamblett spent her early years on the Cummeragunja and Rumbalara missions/reserves. As an activist, academic and community leader, Aunty Esme has worked to bring about meaningful societal change to benefit the Victorian Aboriginal community. Now, as Chief Executive Officer of the Aborigines Advancement League and proud member of the First Peoples' Assembly of Victoria, she continues to build on over five decades of commitment to community.
