Organised by the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria, Treaty Day Out Ballarat will be held at the historical City Oval to raise awareness and support for the journey towards Treaty, as the Assembly enters Treaty negotiations with the Victorian Government later this year.

After three hugely successful festivals in Bendigo, Shepparton, and Melbourne, this year’s Treaty Day Out promises to deliver another exceptional line up. Headlining the Ballarat show is international superstar, Jessica Mauboy. Returning for her second Treaty Day Out

performance, the multi-ARIA award winning singer-songwriter is guaranteed to ignite the stage with her exhilarating live show.

The headliner said she was looking forward to joining the lineup and performing tracks off her new album, ‘Yours Forever’, scheduled for release in February. “I’m so excited to be back performing at another Treaty Day Out. I can’t wait to share the stage with this deadly line up on Wadawurrung Country,” said Jessica.

Off the back of their electrifying performance at Treaty Day Out Naarm, dynamic duo, Electric Fields are back and are set to excite concertgoers with their modern electric-pop hits. Adding to the incredible celebration of First Nation artists, Filipino Wiradjuri rapper,

Mo’Ju will hit the stage showcasing their neo-soul sound from their ARIA-nominated album Oro, Plata, Mata.

Blak collective 3%, will make their Treaty Day Out debut, after playing the Treaty Day In tour, held inside Victorian prisons and organised by the Assembly last November. 3%’s debut single, “OUR PEOPLE,” is a powerful stand against Indigenous deaths in custody that we know will resonate with the Treaty Day Out audience.

Fresh off his national Deadly Heart tour, Scott Darlow will once again join the lineup, along with another Treaty Day Out veteran, Madi Colville-Walker. Pioneers of the First Nations music scene, Blackfire, will make their Treaty Day Out debut, showcasing new tracks off their soon to be released third studio album, Re-Generation. Newcomers to the Treaty Day Out stage, Brolga and Jada Weazel complete the bill.

In partnership with Songlines Music Aboriginal Corporation, Treaty Day Out is thrilled to include space in this year’s lineup for Songlines artist, Canisha. Starting her musical journey busking, with just an amp and microphone on busy Melbourne streets, there is a freshness

and raw energy to Canisha’s music that we can’t wait to welcome to the Treaty Day Out stage for the first time.

Songlines General Manager, Bradley Brown said Treaty Day Out was an important initiative that connects mob and allies through live music and storytelling. “What a line up! From established musical artists to cutting-edge new talent, the day will have something for everyone. We’re really excited to be partnering with Treaty Day Out and can’t wait to celebrate our culture and music with everyone,” said Bradley.

Victorian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who are enrolled with the Assembly will be given free entry to the concert. Eligible people can enrol at any time online: firstpeoplesvic/org/enrol

Friends and allies and those who aren’t enrolled will also be able to purchase tickets to see this deadly lineup for $100. Concession and companion tickets are available for concession card holders and kids who are 15 years and under are free!

Elected members of the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria will be in attendance on the day and community members will have the opportunity to stop by the information stall to have a yarn, learn about Treaty and ask any questions about the community led initiatives that are happening across the State.

First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria Co-chair and Gunditjmara man, Rueben Berg said Treaty Day Out is an opportunity to showcase the excellence of First Nations musicians and to emphasise the message for mob to enrol and walk with us on the journey towards Treaty in Victoria.

“We’re on track to enter negotiations on a statewide Treaty with the Victorian Government this year. This is a moment I’ve been waiting for my whole life. So if you’re mob, help get Treaty done – enrol with the Assembly and then you can enjoy a deadly day out,” said Rueben.
